When You Suffer With Low Back Pain
It is easy to be confused and not know why it is happening. When pain strikes the low back we usually think we just got a new problem or injury. Was it something you did? Was it your regular routine? But why then was coughing, shaving, shoveling, exercising, sleeping, doing the laundry or anything else you think caused it, so different this time? These are things we do every day.
Rarely is a new episode of low back pain brought on by a single injury or trauma. The recent trauma in most cases is usually quite trivial. We confuse the new episode of pain as a sign of something that is brand new. Well, in many cases it is actually an accumulation of many small episodes of damage that has increased as the years have gone by.
So what is the problem? The problem is that something has gotten crooked or stuck, called a subluxation. This usually occurs with small microtraumas over many years, but can also happen with big events such as car accidents or falls.
Over time the ligaments stretch, causing the joints and vertebra to move, irritating the delicate nerve fibers. This often causes pain, numbness, tingling, or burning sensations in the legs or feet. Commonly after a few days or weeks, the pain that accompanies this injury gradually lessens, and in many cases goes away all on its own. Sometimes this will even occur repeatedly over months or years. The problem is that each new "episode", means that you have accumulated more damage and deterioration than the time before.
Frustrated with the medical approach that has allowed you to reach the condition you are experiencing? Most are.
The solution? Well, chiropractic care will restore as much normal movement and proper positioning to the area as possible, restoring the type of function you once had when younger. As a result, you will feel years younger and get back to doing things you once did before.
